Mission, Vision, Diversity Statement, & Goals
The mission of the Office of Disability Services (ODS) is to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to all university programs and activities. In order to promote this mission, the ODS provides institution-wide advisement, consultation, and training on disability-related topics, collaborates with partners to identify and remove barriers to foster an all-inclusive campus, and provides individual services and facilitates accommodations to students with disabilities. Through a wholistic approach, the ODS promotes student learning, development, and success.
The Office of Disability Services will strive to become a model program serving students with disabilities in higher education.
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) aims to support the wholistic needs of our student body by recognizing and appreciating diversity, access, equity, and inclusion. The ODS recognizes disability as a part, but not an exclusive aspect, of the identity of individuals with disabilities. We envision a campus community where all individuals are seen as valued and contributing members of society.
- Promote wholistic student development which will shape student identities (including disability) and influence how they engage the world.
- Create a diverse, inclusive, and pluralistic campus climate which fosters respect for and appreciation of the inherent worth of all individuals through consultation, collaboration, outreach, and university engagement.
- Facilitate equal access for students through the provision of auxiliary aids and academic adjustments.
