2007-2008 Strategic Plan

Department Strategy: The ODS plans to survey every student who utilizes materials in alternate format on their level of satisfaction with each material provided. The feedback received will be utilized by the ODS Cognitive Disability Specialist to make reader assignments.
Department Strategy: Revise the captionist handbook.
Department Strategy: Develop captioning live-training into manual format.
Department Strategy: Develop an online pre-screener process for students who may be concerned about the possibility of an undiagnosed disability.
Department Strategy: In conjunction with Academic Affairs improve services for visitors with disabilities at Commencement ceremonies.
Department Strategy: Co-sponsor the 2008 Deaf Deaf World performance by Keith Wann, a comedian, sign language interpreter and child of deaf adults.
Department Strategy: Develop new scheduling system for ICONs allowing for same day appointments.
Department Strategy: Create handout to facilitate the transition of freshman students with disabilities to the ODS.
Department Strategy: Co-sponsor the 2008 Mental Health Conference.
Department Strategy: Update ODS website using the new Content Management System.
