  • Provides interpreting services to students who are deaf and hard of hearing
  • Determines appropriate accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing students by conducting intake interviews and reviewing disability documentation
  • Coordinates captioning (speech to text) services for academic classes and meetings
  • Prepares faculty for working with deaf and hard of hearing students and their service providers by distributing informational materials including letters and DEAFinitions Guides
  • Serve as a resource for information and adaptive technology support related to deaf and hard of hearing individuals; serve as a resource for linguistic, cultural and learning methods for other support services on campus
  • Serve as Supersite Coordinator for Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) national certification testing

  • Determines appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities by conducting intake interviews and analyzing medical and/or psychological documentation
  • Assists students in accessing accommodations through counseling and coordination   of academic support services
  • Coordinates the ODS testing program to provide alternative test administration to students with disabilities; screens, hires, schedules, and supervises proctors. Monitors  the testing schedule and reading forms to anticipate problems; resolves problems which may occur
  • Assists students to access other available resources by maintaining liaisons with, and referring students to appropriate local, state and federal entities which serve students with                                   disabilities

Ana Webb, Administrative Assistant IIphoto of Ana

  • Assists the General Disability Specialist with arrangements for testing.  Contacts academic departments when necessary to request exams. Provides other support to the General Disability Specialist as needed.
  • Answers and screens telephone calls for the office, addresses concerns and refers calls to the appropriate staff member
  • Schedules appointments for program staff  

Scott Janke, Psychologist

  • Reviews disability documentation for students with acquired brain injury, Attention Deficit Disorders, learning disabilities and psychological disabilities.  In conjunction with the Cognitive Disability Specialist and/or General Disability Specialist determines the need for accommodations and support services
  • Provides counseling for students related to disability issues
  • Serves as point of contact with local psychiatrists/psychologists when verifying information provided to the ODS

  • Coordinates and oversees all administrative duties associated with general office operations
  • Supervises and coordinates duties for support staff
  • Coordinate orientation of student workers
  • Monitors departmental budgets
