ASL Club - The American Sign Language Club at Texas State University-San Marcos is designed to promote awareness of Deaf and hard of hearing issues. The club also serves as an opportunity for hearing, and Deaf and hard of hearing students, to interact and develop programming activities for the university community. The Office of Disability Services has guidelines to help Deaf and Hard of Hearing students access services and accommodations at Texas State including; Approaches to Using Note Takers, Communication Tips, and Overview of Accommodations and Services.
Captioning Services - The Office of Disability Services coordinates captioning (speech to text) services for Texas State hard of hearing students.
Interpreting Services - The Office of Disability Services coordinates sign language and oral interpreting services for Texas State Deaf and hard of hearing students.
Special Appointments - The Office of Disability Services can provide interpreting services for Texas State Deaf and hard of hearing students who have an appointment or meeting that is not a regular class. For example, interpreting services can be provided to meet with a professor, attend a lecture, visit with a representative from the Financial Aid office or attend tutoring sessions.
