Texas State University-San Marcos is a Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Supersite. The Performance Test from RID is administered at Texas State once a month upon request. The written tests in pencil-and-paper version (with the exception of the CDI ASL version) are only administered twice a year on the first Saturday of June and December. If candidates wish to take the NIC Knowledge exam on dates other than those two they will need to take the computer-based version at CASTLE Worldwide sites. To schedule a testing time, email Debbie Cole. Please contact RID directly to apply for testing. For more information visit the RID website.
Texas State is equipped to administer the following performance tests:
Texas State has been an organizational member of RID since 1995
Texas State is one of only two RID Test Sites in the State of Texas.
Texas State was awarded Supersite status in 2007
All RID testing takes place in the Office of Disability Services 5-5.1 LBJ Student Center. The LBJ Student Center has pay per hour visitor parking, the maximum cost for all day parking is $7.00. Candidates need to bring with them their RID receipt letter, a picture ID, and know their RID number on the day of their scheduled test time. Driving Directions.
