Law and Policy

The Office of Disability Services at Texas State University-San Marcos provides accommodations and support services to student with disabilities in accordance with Federal laws including Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act.

The University Policy and Procedure Statement 07.11.01 of Texas State University-San Marcos outlines the university's commitment to ensuring equal opportunity and access for persons with disabilities to the activities, programs, and services offered by the university.

The University Policy and Procedure Statement 04.04.46 of Texas State University-San Marcos outlines the university's sets forth university policy prohibiting illegal discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, or disability.

Any Texas State employees who may require an accommodation due to a disability should refer to UPPS 04.04.60 the university Workplace Accommodation policy.

Currently enrolled students who have a grievance related to accommodations associated with a disability should follow the procedures outlined in the Grievance Procedures for Students with Disabilities.
